About HMRA
UK hospitality marketing specialists
HMRA — the Hospitality Marketing & Revenue Agency — exists because independent venues are routinely sold generic marketing that ignores how hospitality actually makes money.
Our mission
To make independent venues the most confident marketers on their high street
We pair performance marketing with hospitality revenue discipline: the demand generation of a modern agency, the pricing and channel thinking of a hotel revenue team, delivered by a small senior group you can actually get on the phone.
- Specialists, not generalists
- Hospitality is the only sector we work in, so we start every engagement already knowing your margins, seasonality and channels.
- Independents first
- We deliberately work with one-to-five-site operators where a good decision changes the whole business.
- Revenue, not vanity
- We measure ourselves on covers, room nights and direct bookings — never on likes or impressions.

The team
Small, senior, no account layers
Founder & Revenue Strategist
Fifteen years across hotel revenue management and independent pub ownership.
Head of Paid Media
Runs every Google and Meta account. Obsessive about cost per booking.
Content & Social Lead
Shoots on-site, writes the captions, keeps the calendar full months ahead.
Web & Systems Specialist
Builds the sites and wires up booking, ordering and payments.
Placeholder roles and avatars — replace with real team members and photography.
How we work
Foundations first, demand second, discipline throughout
Every engagement follows the same sequence, whether it is a village pub or a small hotel group. The order matters more than the tactics: doing step three before step two is the single most expensive mistake we see independents make.
- 01
Audit
Before anything is proposed we go through your website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts, reviews, booking journey and channel mix, and where relevant your rate structure. You get the findings in writing whether or not you work with us.
- 02
Foundations
Listings, tracking, local search and the booking or ordering journey come first. Sending paid traffic into a site that converts badly is the most common way independents waste money, and it is entirely avoidable.
- 03
Demand
Once the foundations hold, we build demand: Google and Meta campaigns by daypart and offer, social content shot on site, and search visibility for the terms your actual catchment uses.
- 04
Revenue discipline
For rooms, that means rate strategy, minimum stays and channel mix. For food-led venues, it means covers by daypart, function and event revenue, and average spend per head rather than volume alone.
- 05
Review and iterate
Monthly reporting on bookings and cost per booking, quarterly review of pricing and channel mix, and honest conversations about what to stop doing as well as what to scale.
Who we work with
Independent operators, one to five sites
We are deliberately narrow. Working with the same four venue types repeatedly means we recognise the pattern in your numbers quickly instead of learning your business at your expense.
Independent pubs and gastropubs
Wet-led locals, food-led destination pubs and pubs with rooms. Usually the priority is filling quiet midweek trade, selling Sunday lunch and functions earlier, and getting found for the searches happening within a few miles.
Restaurants and bistros
Single-site and small-group operators competing on quality rather than price. The work centres on local visibility, daypart demand, review flow and reducing dependence on commission-charging reservation platforms.
Boutique hotels and inns
Properties from a handful of rooms upward where every OTA commission point matters. Direct booking journey, rate and demand calendar, brand-search protection and shoulder-season packages.
B&Bs and guest houses
Owner-operated properties with limited time and no marketing department. We keep scope tight, automate what can be automated, and prioritise the two or three changes that move occupancy most.
What makes us different
Why a hospitality specialist beats a generalist
We understand a P&L, not just a dashboard
Gross margin on a pint differs from margin on a room night, and both differ from a function booking. That shapes which bookings we chase and what a sensible cost per booking actually is for your venue.
Revenue management is in scope
Most marketing agencies stop at demand generation. We also look at what you charge, when, and through which channel — because a rate or minimum-stay change can be worth more than any campaign.
We will tell you not to spend
If your booking journey is broken, or the season is wrong, or the site cannot convert, we fix that before recommending media budget. Selling spend into a leaky funnel is how agencies lose hospitality clients.
Everything stays in your name
Accounts, data, creative and access are yours from day one. Agencies that keep client assets hostage are relying on friction rather than results, and we would rather be judged on the numbers.
Next step
Work with a team that only does hospitality
Tell us about your venue and we'll show you where the quickest revenue gains are hiding.
