Hospitality marketing, explained properly

Long-form guides for operators who want to understand the mechanics rather than hire on faith. Every piece is written from client work: what we do, in what order, and what it is realistic to expect.

About this library

The HMRA library is written for independent operators — pubs, restaurants, boutique hotels and B&Bs that want hospitality marketing which actually fills tables and rooms, rather than vanity metrics. You will find practical guides on local SEO for restaurants, restaurant SEO, pub marketing, hotel revenue management and direct booking strategy, alongside the operational detail that usually decides whether any of it works: profile accuracy, review velocity, booking-path friction and pricing on the dates that are soft.

Every guide is built on work we do every day for venues across the UK and further afield, so the examples are trading examples — covers, room nights, commission and cost per booking. Each one ends with the fixes that matter most, in the order we would do them, and nothing is padded to hit a word count.

Topic clusters

What we write about, and why

The library is organised around the three questions independent operators ask us most. New guides are added to these clusters rather than published at random.

Revenue & commission

Channel mix, OTA commission, rate strategy and the maths behind direct booking. Written for operators who want the numbers, not the theory.

Demand & local search

How guests actually find venues: map packs, review velocity, Google Business Profile depth and the location pages that rank for real searches.

Conversion & operations

Booking journeys, deposits, no-shows, enquiry handling and the unglamorous fixes that recover bookings you have already earned.
